The Camp
At The
Heritage Camporee 2000

October 14, 2000

The Scouts erected their camp flag pole on the highest point on the Potts Family Farm and flew Ol' Glory at half mast throughout the weekend in recognition of recent events involving the USS Cole in the Middle East.

The Loudoun Amateur Radio Group Station K4LRG was in operation on the hill also.

The Camporee Director, Cheri Berman, and all the Scouting Leaders including the many Junior Leaders
did a super job of laying out the camp and conducting a very rememberable event.

The camp was nestled on the eastern slopes and enjoyed good sunshine all morning.  Each troop had its own unique arrangement and when the Radio Operators toured the camp they were offered a bite to eat.

The camp fire was constructed early on Saturday morning in anticipation of a wonderful evening and an almost perfect full moon.

The members of the Loudoun Amateur Radio Group enjoyed being with the Boy Scouts and hope they learned something about Amateur Radio and the Radio Merit Badge.
Best Regards de K4LRG.
