The LARG returned to Richmond for the 2011 Frostfest
Rick Miller - AI1V of Reston and Jeff Slusher - KE5APC of Leesburg provided this report and photographs

A nice group of LARG hams attended Frostfest at the Richmond International Speedway on Saturday, February 5.

It was chilly and rainy, but fortunately all the activity was indoors.

Sited at the hamfest were Dave, KE4S, Rick (AI1V), Jeff (KE5APC), Merc (N4TGA), Henry (K2BFY), Marcia (KJ4GYH), Dodson (AJ4EY), Dick (W2YE), and Bill (KJ4VTH).

There was a good crowd there and lots of "stuff." The major manufacturers were there as well as lots of used treasures. A couple of us picked up the very handy aluminum tripod kits to "be ready". Rick scored some "rare" N-to-UHF barrel connectors, and Jeff was seen carrying an embarrassingly large piece of heat shrink tubing. Dave and Rick spent lots of time at the Elecraft booth admiring the P3 monitor scope. As it turns out they both went home and ordered one that night! As far as we know, nobody did the same thing with the beautiful, but pricey Hilberling ($18.5K).

Jeff points out the the $18,000 Hilberling radio on the table behind the group.
And, he imagined that maybe they considered buying it for the club for use at Field Day?
