Meeting Minutes for June 16, 2007

 

The meeting was called to order by President Dave Putman, KE4S, at 8:45. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

 

New members, those who have been away for awhile, and visitors were recognized.

 

Minutes from May approved as published

 

Treasures report from Jeff - approved as read.

 

Committee Reports

 

Training – No report

 

Interference – No report

 

Contests –

  1. Reminder - Field Day is next weekend. 
  2. Also plan ahead for IARU Phone/CW on 14-15 July.

 

Emergency/Public Service and Balloon Committees – Tom Dawson, WB3AKD

 

  1. A CERT team is being formed in South Riding.  Possible new licensees and need for training?

 

  1. No Reston Bike Club support currently planned; ARC is not supporting the August event this year.  Gary (NC4S) to follow up.

 

  1. VA Defense Force - Tom (WB3AKD) will follow up to investigate what kinds of help they need to establish armory and unit support.

 

  1. A fox hunt will be set up to follow the July meeting. 

 

New Business

 

Field Day planning discussions let by Jeff Slusher.  Setup will commence Friday 1700L.
